DO YOU LOVE FLORENCE?

June 2009 - I am delighted to announce that Peter Bastaja has been selected to exhibit his artwork at the internationally prestigious Florence Biennale to be held in December 2009.

Peter was particularly thrilled to receive his unsolicited invitation, which came directly from the Internal Committee (the international judging panel) of the Biennale, thereby negating the pre-selection process. The dilemma for Peter now is what to exhibit - one of the recently painted colourful abstracts, a digital image or possibly both? We’ll have to wait and see.

The Biennale Internazionale Dell’Arte Contemporanea (Florence Biennale) is the largest exhibition of contemporary art in the world held in Florence, Italy every two years. Now in its 14th year, 840 artists from 76 countries will exhibit more than 2,500 works of art in this fantastic exhibition. Part of the buzz of the Biennale is the presence of important artists from around the world. In 2007 the Lorenzo il Magnifico career prize went to Gilbert and George; in 2005 to Christo and Jeanne-Claude and also to Richard Anuszkiewicz, and in 2003 to David Hockney.

The Florence Biennale is open to the public and will run from 5th December until 13th December 2009. For further information: http://www.florencebiennale.org

Look forward to seeing you in Florence!
